Create an expedition map of the South American landscape by placing land tiles alongside a starting sea tile. Each turn, place the tile stored above the map, then take a new tile from the market row matching its symbol, planning the next step while other players act. Score points by meeting the conditions of common and rare animals, competing over landscape features such as jungles, savannahs, swamps, and river basins, and avoiding dead-end rivers. The tile-placement puzzle develops as the map expands and scoring opportunities become more difficult to combine.
