Checkers Gomoku

A two-phase abstract game combining checkers and Gomoku. On an 8×8 board, each player first places 12 pieces on empty spaces. Once all pieces are placed, players take turns moving one piece to an adjacent empty space in any of the eight directions. Forming a line of five pieces orthogonally or diagonally allows a player to remove one opposing piece. The objective is to reduce the opponent’s total to four pieces.
