Go-Moku

Players alternately place stones on a grid, aiming to be the first to make an unbroken line of five. The game typically uses a 19×19 (or 15×15) board and is played without captures or movement once stones are placed. Play proceeds turn by turn with black moving first; the opening advantage for the first player is commonly addressed by predefined swap rules. The rules are simple and play centers on pattern recognition, line-building, and blocking the opponent’s threats until one side completes five in a row.
