Heart of Darkness: An Adventure Game of African Exploration

An adventure game of African exploration set in the mid-19th century. Players lead expeditions from ports of entry into Central and Southern Africa, seeking myths and legends for a newspaper publisher. Expeditions include armed askaris, porters, guides, and supplies, and must interact with local people, hunt for food, and manage gifts. Movement across a map divided by ethnic regions brings encounters with wildlife, hostile groups, and disasters that reduce health and sanity. Players compete to collect Drama Points by bringing back stories, while avoiding the death or madness of their explorer.
