I like the thinky-ness of the game without being overly complex. Kinda long to set up, but plays fast if you have the right set of people. I prefer playing this with two players to keep it moving and ability to play out strategy without limiting your resources. I dont think it's an overly tight resource game, but definitely hits the sweet spot of being able to do what you want without being just over the top easy. I'd call this a gateway plus game.
