Condottiere

1995 · Card Game

Condottiere

Players act as mercenary leaders in 13th‑century Italy, bidding troops and special cards to seize provinces on the map. Each round represents a battle: players simultaneously commit cards that contribute strength, then compare totals to determine who conquers the contested province. All cards played are lost from players’ hands, so bidding reflects how many forces one is willing to expend. Special cards introduce seasonal effects, political influences, and tactical surprises that modify contests and player decisions. The goal is to control a connected chain of provinces (the required length varies by player count) to win the campaign.
