Last Bastion
Players take on the roles of a small band of heroes who have retreated to an ancestral fort after stealing powerful relics. They must organize defenses, manage resources, and assign actions to repel waves of monster attackers led by enemy warlords. The game plays cooperatively against an automated threat: players coordinate movement, combat, and upgrading of the bastion while reacting to event-driven enemy advances. Success requires balancing immediate survival with longer-term fortification; either all players jointly defend the citadel or the siege consumes the stronghold.

Rules questions
Answered from the rulebook by Ludoya's rules assistant.
Can my hero attack two monsters in one action?
Yes — a hero on a corner Bastion tile can enter combat against two adjacent monsters simultaneously, but the player must obtain the total resistance of both with the Combat dice and any spent Equipment tokens (if only enough for one, the player chooses which to vanquish). (see page 9).
If my hero loses all their Life tokens, are they out of the game forever?
No — a hero who loses their last Life token is taken out (their tokens return to the reserve and their board becomes neutral), but they can be healed: when healed they return wounded (lose their power) and re-enter on the Dispensary tile; if they lose all Life a second time they are dead and eliminated. (see page 9).
Can I use equipment tokens that belong to other players?
You may use Equipment tokens of one or more heroes located on the same Bastion tile as the active player, but players may not trade or give Equipment tokens to each other. (see page 9).
Do I have to move or perform an action on my turn?
No — Move and Act are optional: during the Hero phase you may act and move in either order, but you are not required to take either action. (see pages 8 and 12).
Can I use a Call to Arms token to activate a Bastion tile that is under the Grasp of Evil?
Yes — spending a Call to Arms lets the active player use any Bastion tile's action even if they are not on it and even if that tile is under the Grasp of Evil; using the token is a special extra action and it is placed in the reserve when spent. (see page 8).
We defeated the Warlord — can its exit effects still make us lose the game?
Yes — after vanquishing the Warlord you must still apply any exit effects it has, and those effects can cause defeat (for example by adding a third Grasp of Evil tile); victory only stands if applying its exit effects does not trigger a loss. (see pages 7 and 10).
