Gods Love Dinosaurs
Players act as gods shaping a fragile ecosystem, placing habitat tiles to introduce and expand populations of herbivores, predators, and dinosaurs. Each turn adds a tile that alters available resources and animal counts; periodic feeding rounds have dinosaurs consume other animals to produce eggs and score points. Players balance growth and predation to avoid local extinctions and ensure enough food remains for future rounds. Scoring hinges on managing population cycles and timing feeding events to maximize dinosaur reproduction without collapsing the food chain.

Kush5.2 Pleasant enough design that I could play again. It reminded me a lot of another game—Bumúntú. Overall they are quite different, but share the core gameplay mechanism where you have different animal tokens which move as per different rules on the board creating an interesting spacial puzzle. However GLD combines this with tile placement (adding to your personal area) and asks you to plan ahead and balance timing of triggering different animal movement/feeding so as to not disrupt your food chain engine. Bumúntú, on the other hand combines the spatial movement puzzle with set collection of beautiful chunky animal tiles (which you remove from the common play area) with a surprising mechanism of market manipulation to change the set collection values for end-game. While GLD was a perfectly 'ok' game, it just left me pining for some Bumúntú and kicking myself for trading it away this year to make space! :(
