La bâtarde
A traditional trick-taking card game in the style of Tarot, Coinche, and Belote. Each player bids on the number of tricks they expect to win, with no passing and no teams. Bidding determines the trump suit, or whether there is no trump, before players follow suit, play a trump, or discard when unable to follow. The highest card wins the trick, but scoring depends on matching the announced bid—including a bid of zero. Suitable for 3 to 8 players.
