Players cooperate as a team of ninja defending a large ship from invading villains, including serpents and pirates. Each session begins by choosing an adventure that sets difficulty, setup, and narrative twists. Villains advance toward key ship areas; if too many reach those zones, the team loses. Players perform actions like defeating enemies, drinking tea, and reading comic books to fill personal victory tracks and unlock upgrades. Upgrades include improved spinjitzu and character-specific potential cards, and players combine unique abilities and chosen cards to coordinate defenses and adapt tactics to each adventure.
