Liberation
A covert resistance fights a vast, authoritarian galactic regime. One player commands the regime’s forces, expanding control across planet cards, occupying and exploiting worlds to tighten a web of power. The other player operates the resistance from a hidden base, using a tiny deck to perform sabotage, conduct missions, and undermine the regime’s hand. Play is asymmetrical and tense: the regime hunts and constrains the resistance’s options, while the resistance tries to build support and survive long enough to cycle the deck multiple times. Victory comes from either unmasking and destroying the base or mustering enough support to overthrow the regime.

Clever little game that feels much bigger than it is! PROS - The core system feels smart, with a hide-n-seek game where you need to do things but resources are pretty limited. Information is the key resource in the game, so being careful about what you give up becomes the main mechanic for the Liberation player. It is thematic and makes for a pretty good gameplay. - The expansions do not change the game, but provide variation which is welcome here. - The art and graphic design are functional, exotic and colorful. CONS - There is memory involved in this game, and it definitely asks for your attention. Some players may not like this and they'll hate the game. - The game has quite a lot of information on its cards. Expect your first games to be longer than they should, and be aware this is not a casual-friendly game despite its small footprint.
