Build the southern French countryside by drawing and placing landscape tiles so that roads meet roads, cities meet cities, and cloisters and fields align correctly. After placing a tile, optionally place a meeple as a knight in a city, a robber on a road, a monk in a cloister, or a farmer in a field; completed features score points for the controlling meeples. Turns consist of placing one tile and optionally one meeple, creating ongoing tactical choices about expansion, blocking opponents, and managing a limited pool of meeples.

El juego de colocación de losetas por excelencia. Rapidísimo de preparar y muy fácil de jugar: roba una loseta, colócala y pon un meeple en ella si quieres. Hay mucho más puteo del que parece a simple vista.

Answered from the rulebook by Ludoya's rules assistant.

Do I have to place a meeple every turn?

No — placing a meeple is optional; after you place a tile you may place a meeple from your supply on that tile (pages 3, 5).

Can I place my meeple on a road/city/monastery that already has another player's meeple?

No — you may not place a meeple in a feature where there is already at least one meeple, though you can place tiles that later connect separate features and create shared features decided by majority at scoring (pages 5–6).

When do I return meeples to my supply?

Return meeples to your supply immediately after the feature they occupy is scored; the scored meeples are taken back at the end of that scoring (pages 4–5).

How many points do I get for completing a road, city, or monastery?

Roads score 1 point per tile; completed cities score 2 points per tile plus 2 points per coat of arms; monasteries score 1 point for the monastery plus 1 point for each surrounding tile (a fully surrounded monastery is 9 points) (pages 3–5).

What do I do if I draw a tile that I can’t place anywhere?

If it is impossible to place the drawn tile, return that tile to the box and draw a new one (page 5).

How are incomplete features scored at game end?

At final scoring: incomplete roads score 1 point per tile, incomplete cities score 1 point per tile and 1 per coat of arms, incomplete monasteries score 1 plus 1 per adjacent tile, and fields (farmers) score 3 points per adjacent completed city (page 6).
