Rome in a Day
Players divide and trade parcels of former Roman territory to assemble the most profitable domain. Each round, players draw five land tiles, place two buildings, then secretly split the tiles into a larger and a smaller group, placing a gem on the smaller pile. Screens are revealed and players select from a neighbor’s offered groups according to a rotating left/right order, then combine the acquired tiles with their own remaining group. Scoring rewards matching terrain types with adjacent buildings (lands × buildings per type) and gems, which are worth points. The game plays over four turns and uses hand-management, drafting and negotiation through cut-and-choose decisions.
