My City
Develop a city on a personal grid through a 24-episode campaign that traces growth from preindustrial settlement to industrial age expansion. Players place polyomino tiles and add permanent modifications to their boards and the shared card pool; decisions and actions persist between sessions to create a customized progression. Scoring tracks progress circles filled over the campaign, and the highest total wins. An alternate double-sided board enables non-legacy, repeatable play after unlocking certain components from the early episodes.

Rules questions
Answered from the rulebook by Ludoya's rules assistant.
Can I place a building so it only touches another building at a corner?
No — buildings must share at least one full side to count as bordering; corner-only contact is not allowed (page 4).
Does my very first building only need a corner on the river to be legal?
No — the first building must be placed alongside the river (not just a single corner touching it) (pages 3, 7).
If I don’t want to build a revealed tile, can I always just pass?
You may pass and place the building face down, but you must move your scoring token one step backward; if your scoring token is already at zero, passing is not allowed and you must instead end your participation in the episode (page 4).
Can I place a building so it lies on both sides of the river?
No — a building may not be placed so that it occupies spaces on both sides of the river, though placing a building along the river (partly covering it) is allowed (pages 3, 6).
Do two buildings separated by a river still count as bordering?
Yes — buildings count as bordering even if the river flows between them (pages 4, 7).
What happens when the blocking card is turned over?
When the blocking card appears, immediately flip another card and the building shown on that second card is blocked (must not be constructed); place both cards on the discard with the blocking card on top, turn each blocked building face down for each player, then continue with the next card (page 7).
