Origin Story

Players build a superhero origin one chapter at a time through trick-taking and tableau-building mechanics. Over five rounds, each round represents a chapter that awards a new card to add to the player mat; cards are charged and activated for abilities. Players draft and win tricks to reveal backstory elements, acquire gadgets and allies, develop grudges, and develop an ultimate ability. Gameplay emphasizes managing four attributes—brains, love, speed, and strength—to trigger effects and score points, with the goal of having the most compelling origin by the end of the fifth chapter.
