Rummy

Players are dealt a hand of standard playing cards and race to empty their hands by placing matched groups on the table. On a turn a player draws either the top face-down stock card or the visible top card (or a set of cards) from the discard pile, then may meld sets (three or more of the same rank) or runs (three or more consecutive cards in one suit) and may lay off cards onto existing melds. Play ends when a player discards their last card; cards on the table score positively while cards left in hand count against a player. Hand sizes, scoring values, and exact discard/pickup rules vary by common variants.
