Warhammer 40,000 (Third Edition)

A tabletop miniature wargame set in a bleak sci‑fi future where multiple factions vie for dominance across shattered battlefields. Players assemble armies from collectible miniatures, assign points values and agree a points limit and scenario, then fight using phases for movement, shooting, psychic powers and close combat. Distances are measured with rulers and outcomes are resolved with dice, including specialized scatter dice for certain random effects. Games typically run a fixed number of turns and score victory points for objectives and destroyed models. Rule supplements, new units and edition updates expand playable armies and options over time.

Great game, until you realize that there are 40K means the amount of rules in the game, and that most of the war is done outside the game. Too much money, too much arguing, and too much snobbery have ruined an otherwise fine game.
