Civilization: The Expansion Project

Players lead ancient civilizations from the invention of agriculture to the rise of Rome, developing societies across an expanded map stretching from the Mediterranean to India. They expand their territories, manage resources, and invest in advancements such as Literacy, Metalworking, and Law. Up to eighteen players compete through cultural, economic, political, and religious development. Battles and territorial disputes can occur, but victory depends on overall advancement rather than conquest. The game adds a redesigned map, more civilization advancements, an updated timeline, and a new victory point system.
