File Off the Serial Numbers

This d20 sourcebook explains how to repurpose existing monster stat blocks as humanoid NPCs in different roles. It includes more than 80 examples, such as using a young black dragon as a lizardfolk sorcerer or a yeti as a barbarian, along with guidance for swapping or ignoring irrelevant abilities. Reference tables organize suggested roles by challenge rating, class, and creature size, helping game masters quickly create NPCs and adversaries when the player characters take an unexpected turn.
