Players take on the roles of children who slip from reality into a grotesque fantasy world shaped by dark versions of fairy tales, folklore, myths, and nursery rhymes. Familiar characters become dangerous rulers, monsters, servants, and cursed wanderers. Using a streamlined d20-based system, players create characters, confront the inhabitants of the Grimm Lands, and decide how their story unfolds. The game supports short adventures or longer campaigns in which characters struggle to survive, escape to the real world, or seize control of the nightmare realm.
