Players assume the roles of the movie’s core survivors barricaded in an isolated farmhouse while the dead rise and close in. Gameplay uses the franchise’s cooperative, scenario-driven mechanics: search for weapons and items, coordinate actions, clear areas of undead, and manage escalating threats as ghouls attack from outside. Two rule variants change character attributes — one reflecting the film’s original portrayals and one adjusted to fit the base game’s powered-up mechanics — with mechanics that can shift characters between those states during play. Scenarios capture the tense, claustrophobic atmosphere of a small-group struggle for survival against relentless hordes.
