Port Arthur

A fast, two-player naval strategy game set during the 1905 Russo–Japanese conflict at sea. Players take the roles of the Japanese expeditionary force attempting amphibious landings in Manchuria or the Russian fleet trying to prevent those landings until reinforcements arrive. Each turn players sortie ships, contest control of naval zones, and resolve combat using ship-specific speed and gunnery values. Play emphasizes quick, tense decision making and risk management as commanders weigh aggressive attacks against the varying capabilities of individual vessels. Components are compact and designed for short play sessions.
