Teotihuacan: Late Preclassic Period

Players develop a growing city and compete to guide its expansion through changing seasons and events. The box adds modular options: unique asymmetrical player powers, a challenging fourth temple track that grants lasting abilities, and season- or eclipse-driven variable effects. New engineering techniques and renovation projects for the central pyramid provide additional actions and scoring paths. Modules are compatible and can be combined or used separately, letting players tailor increased complexity and new strategic choices.

Szabálykérdések

A Ludoya szabályasszisztense válaszol a szabálykönyv alapján.

Do we have to play with all five modules, or can we choose just one or two?

You can use the modules individually or together; they are compatible with one another. The rulebook recommends introducing one or two at a time for your first games (pp. 2–3).

What do the wooden worshippers and discs track when we use the expansion?

Use wooden worshippers to mark your progress on each temple. Discs still track your score, Avenue of the Dead, Pyramid, Technologies, and—when the orange temple module is used—special abilities (p. 3; setup details on p. 4).

How does the orange temple work, and can I pick the same ability twice?

The orange temple works like the other temples, but advancing on it is limited to the Worship space on the new Nobles board or an effect that advances you on any temple. When you reach an ability step, choose one of that level; you cannot choose a lower-level ability or the same ability twice (pp. 4–5).

When does the Season tile change?

The active Season effect lasts until the end of the next Eclipse. After each Eclipse, replace the tile with a randomly drawn one (p. 5).

Can I take the Architecture or Development main action if I can’t build anything?

No—you must be able to add at least one Decoration tile for the Architecture action, or at least one Pyramid tile for the Development action. Both actions otherwise use the same method as the Forest, Stone Quarry, or Gold Deposits main action (pp. 6–8).
