Tokaido: Crossroads

2013 · Utazás

Tokaido: Crossroads

This expansion adds new locations, encounters and collectibles to the base game’s pilgrimage along the Tokaido road. Players visit cherry groves, bathhouses, calligraphy stands and hidden gambling rooms to gather souvenirs, score points and trigger special effects. New types of encounters and legendary objects introduce additional strategic choices and alternate routes, while good-luck charms and other treasures modify scoring and player interactions. Components integrate with the base game to increase variety and decision space without changing core turn structure.

Szabálykérdések

A Ludoya szabályasszisztense válaszol a szabálykönyv alapján.

When I stop on a Panorama, do I get both the Panorama card and a Cherry Tree card?

No. You must choose either the corresponding Panorama card or an available Cherry Tree card. A Cherry Tree is worth 2 points and 1 coin, and Cherry Trees are not collected in sections. (Rulebook, p. 2)

Can I use an Amulet on the same turn that I acquire it?

No. An Amulet acquired at a Temple can be used starting on your next move, but never on the turn when it was acquired. Used Amulets return to their stack and may be drawn again later. (Rulebook, p. 4)

Can I take both actions when I stop at a space with two choices?

Normally, no—you must choose one option at Panoramas, Hot Springs, Farms, Temples, Shops, and Encounters. The Health Amulet allows both options except at an Inn, while Miyataka and Kita have specific abilities allowing both actions at Temples and Encounters respectively. (Rulebook, pp. 3–6)

Do Encounter cards let me take the new Crossroads options too?

No. Encounter-card effects apply only to the original Tokaido cards: a Guide does not allow a Cherry Tree, a Priest does not allow an Amulet, and a Craftsman does not allow a Legendary Object. (Rulebook, p. 7)

How does the Gaming Room work, and how many coins do I bet?

You gamble 2 coins from your reserve and roll the Fortune die: X loses the bet, x1 returns it, and x2, x3, or x4 pays two, three, or four times the bet. Lost coins go to the bank, while winnings come from the bank. (Rulebook, p. 3)

How many Crossroads cards do we use with different player counts?

With 2–3 players, randomly use 4 of each Crossroads card type; with 4–5 players, use 5 of each type. Unused cards return to the box, and with 4–5 players you may inspect the Amulet and Calligraphy cards in play before starting. (Rulebook, pp. 6–7)
