Trench

An abstract two-player war game set on a diamond-shaped 8x8 grid divided by a central trench. Each player deploys an army on opposite sides of the trench and moves pieces with distinct capabilities, from basic soldiers to a commanding general. Play focuses on occupying and holding the trench to gain access to the opponent’s territory: coordinated maneuvers and piece interactions enable trench assaults, breakthroughs, and captures. The game records outcomes across two battles, and the army that survives after those engagements wins.
