Players act as railway investors building and operating rail networks across Spain while managing a portfolio of company shares. Gameplay alternates stock rounds, where players buy and sell shares and fight for presidency of companies, with one to three operating rounds in which company directors lay track, place stations, run routes to collect revenue, upgrade rails and buy trains. The game includes narrow and broad gauge regions connected by mountain passes, numerous mines as revenue sources, major and minor companies, takeovers and multiple train types. Setup is variable and randomized, and the game ends when the top-tier trains enter service; the winner is richest total of cash plus share value.
