Sid Meier's Civilization: The Board Game – Fame and Fortune
Adds new civilizations, historical figures, map tiles and card types to the base game. Players can choose from four additional civilizations and recruit specific Great Persons from a dedicated deck to gain unique abilities. Introduces an investment deck that lets players spend coin to acquire ongoing benefits, along with new technology and culture event cards that expand strategic options. Includes extra map tiles, markers and components to support a fifth player and increase variety across plays.

How do metropolises work — what benefits do they give and how do you grow a capital into a metropolis?
A city becomes a metropolis by meeting the metropolis growth rules (expanding into the outskirts and fulfilling the listed requirements) and then immediately gains the metropolis benefits; see the metropolis rules and outskirts diagram on p.9 and the example on p.10.
What happens when I send a caravan or uncover a relic — how do relics work?
Send caravans using the caravan rules and, when a relic is claimed, apply its one‑time effect as described; relics and the caravan rules (including Atlantis, Confucius, Seven Cities examples) are explained on p.8 and relic abilities are listed on p.15.
How do Great People cards work and what happens if a Great Person is killed?
Great People have defined card parts and abilities and are drawn/played per the great person rules; if a Great Person is killed its card is discarded and any ongoing ability ends — see the great person setup and kill/discard rules on pp.10–11 (kill resolution on p.11).
How does the Investment deck work — how do I invest coins and what do investments do?
Set up the investment deck as described, spend coins to invest into the available investment cards, and resolve each investment’s effect when its conditions are met; full setup and investing/resolution rules and examples are on p.12.
What do the new huts and villages do and how do I resolve them?
When you explore a hut or village follow the expansion’s new hut/village effects list and resolve the named one‑time effects immediately; the instructions and full list of new effects appear on p.7 and p.15.

Build the wonder deck and place market wonders per the expanded wonder‑deck setup, and follow the Fame and Fortune clarifications for how market wonders and looting/loot effects are adjusted; see wonder‑deck setup on p.4 and the market/looting clarifications on p.6.
