Take 5 & Take A Number

This double-pack includes both the original simultaneous-number-placement game and a variant that adds personal rows and card-recycling. In the first game, players receive a hand of number cards and, each turn, simultaneously reveal one to place into one of four ascending rows; cards go to the row whose end is the highest lower number, and taking the sixth card in a row forces a player to claim the other five (scoring their penalty points) and start a new row. After ten rounds players total penalty points and the lowest score wins if no elimination threshold ends the match. The variant uses three shared rows of limited lengths, gives players smaller hands and a personal X-row mechanic: taken cards return to a player’s hand and some played cards are forced into an ascending personal row that, if broken, is set aside and doubled in value. Play proceeds over two rounds and the player with the fewest negative points wins.
