The Outsiders Expansion (fan expansion for Root)

Adds six fan-created factions, a new vagabond variant, two map boards, and a shared deck for use with the base game. Each faction brings distinct goals and mechanics: bone-collecting patrols that dig and stash treasures; swarming “winged” forces that overwhelm clearings; a proselytizing order that converts followers; a coven of amphibians that petrify enemies and harvest power from statues; a dual-party reptile coalition pursuing a nation-building agenda; and an eccentric tinkerer who fields three powerful automata. The vagabond variant offers a gruff, solitary scavenger role. The double-sided board provides a frontier-themed Deep Woods map with settler mechanics and a resource-scarce Wastelands map driven by water rations. The 54-card Upstarts & Renegades deck supplies new craftable improvements and component-based effects.
