Ascending Empires

Players vie for control of a new galaxy after humanity discovers ruins of four extinct alien civilizations. They explore and colonize star systems, erect colonies, cities, and research facilities, and develop technologies derived from alien relics. Starship fleets move and fight using a dexterity-based mechanic that resolves movement and combat simply and quickly. The game balances exploration, technological development, and fleet-building, allowing multiple strategic approaches to expand influence and claim territory.

Jugaría otra ya! No sé si en la nueva versión van a equilibrar algunas tecnologías que en esta versión me parecieron muy potentes.

This is a full featured space 4x game, where your success or failure depends on your ability to flick discs where you want them to go. It's a cool idea, but this makes for an extremely harsh experience if you have any unevenness in skill levels with your opponents. Imagine playing any of these large scale space games where you build a big death fleet and then have it demolished with a few barely missed moves. The component quality on this game doesn't help either, as the boards that you flick across aren't quite even and tend to warp. I definitely prefer a more forgiving experience in my flicking games. ☆ Art, Iconography and components functional ☆ Clever or interesting mechanisms ★ Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players ★ Multiple plays stay interesting ★ Low or mitigatable luck elements ★★☆☆☆ Raw enjoyment

Un híbrido raro, mal por el tablero modular, que se te puede mover. Un juego de gestión y de destreza, la parte de gestión no me gustó, demasiado enfocado a las tecnologías, y la parte de destreza... la verdad que para eso le doy al Crokinole.
