Odin's Ravens

Two players each guide a raven across a landscape made of domino-style terrain cards, racing to reach the goal first. Players draw and play land cards that match the terrain in front of their raven to advance, and use special deity cards to rearrange the track, hinder the opponent, or take other tactical actions. Players may build auxiliary stacks or play into a shared “magic” area to set up future moves and score bonus points. Rounds end when a raven reaches the finish, points are awarded based on the distance between ravens (plus any magic-area bonuses), and the first player to reach the target score wins.

Excellent for a quick game that can be instantly picked up and played without a heavy investment of card knowledge, or mechanics

Cute, quick racing game for 2 players. It's a bit random in terms of what cards you draw from your symmetrical deck, but it's a nice game to kill some time, and there's some excitement when your opponent gets stuck with a bad hand. There's some complexity in the idea of being able to create a second deck you are allowed to stock and play cards from, but the mechanic winds up feeling a little cumbersome. ★ Art and components ★ Innovative mechanics ☆ Handles 5 or more players ★ Good with min or max players ★ Low time between turns ★ Comfortable complexity ☆ Re-playability ☆☆☆ Enjoyment
