Quinamid
An abstract two-player game played across five wooden boards of different sizes, arranged as a pyramid. Players aim to reveal a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line of five counters. On each turn, a player places a counter, rotates a board and any boards above it, or moves a board and any boards above it one position orthogonally. The next player cannot move or rotate the board affected on the previous turn. Moving boards can cover counters beneath them, making memory an important part of planning. Games typically take only a few minutes, making short series easy to play.

Tom7.2 I highly recommend Quinamid; from the quality components to the simple yet engaging rules, this is one of the best games of 2007 - and easily one of my favorite two-player abstract games. When using the variants, it can become rather deep, yet never so overwhelming as to cause me to dislike it. A two-player game that I can enjoy with my wife, children, or a friend who drops by, Quinamid will likely never leave my collection - an exceptional game. See my review for more details...
