Players lead a clan of adventurers through Ivalice, an illusory world created from a boy’s imagination and brought to life by a mysterious grimoire. The game combines a story-driven campaign with turn-based tactical battles, allowing units to learn different jobs, gain abilities, and take on missions. Battles are shaped by local laws that restrict certain actions and reward tactical planning.
