Legacy: Gears of Time

We played this with 2 players and It did not work for us at all. this game appears to have a major 'reward the leader' component, where the cards you play can be killed by earlier copies of the same card. Then the cards that still remain produce a resource for players who didn't get killed, which allow them to conquer other player's remaining cards. It's possible we just didn't play this very strategically the first time, but my game partner was so turned off by my completely devastating his first turn (and subsequent turns since he had no hope of catching up since my higher resource production meant I could maintain control of anything he tried to do), that I don't know if I'll be able to get this back to the table with him. I'm honestly shocked, because I had read this was a really fantastic game with 2, and it's pretty highly rated. ★ Art, Iconography and components functional ☆ Clever or interesting mechanisms ★ Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players ★ Multiple plays stay interesting ★ Low or mitigatable luck elements ★☆☆☆☆ Raw enjoyment
