Plums

Compare numbers on fruit in this mathematically themed game! Play fruit cards, then claim one of the cards played based on the strength of the fruit submitted. Some cards provide scoring patterns or special actions, such as collecting extra plums, stealing cards, protecting against theft, or increasing a card’s value with pi cards. After three rounds, players score completed contracts, and the player with the most points wins.

This is a beautifully illustrated game played over three rounds. Each round a stack of cards is divided evenly among players. Then each player in turn order plays a card. Then whoever played the highest numbered card gets first pick from the cards everyone played. Some of the cards have special abilities that activate when taken, and others have scoring criteria. After taking a card you are allowed to score. It's got enough depth and take that to be interesting and allow for somewhat flexible strategies. Determining when to play which card can make for some fun tension if you are the sort of person who likes trick-taking games. After a few plays I found I don't have it in me for the situations when all the cards you have fail to take anything useful hand after hand. :star: Art, Iconography and components functional :star: Clever or interesting mechanisms :star: Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players :star: Multiple plays stay interesting :nostar: Low or mitigatable luck elements :star::nostar::nostar::nostar::nostar: Raw enjoyment
