Requiem: Downfall of Magic

Players cooperate as members of a secret order in early 16th-century Holy Roman Empire, investigating rumors of a necromantic cult and unfolding a branching narrative campaign. The game uses an evolving hex-tile map and a chapter book to present scenario-specific rules, quests, events and discoveries; exploration reveals tiles, enemies and story-driven encounters. Players control asymmetrical characters who perform actions, resolve events, fight monsters and tackle unique boss battles that use special rules and layouts. Choices, successes and failures steer the campaign toward different crossroads and final confrontations, with the campaign state carried across scenarios.
