1849: The Game of Sicilian Railways

Els jugadors construeixen i operen ferrocarrils per la Sicília del segle XIX i principis del XX, col·locant fitxes de vies i ampliant les xarxes per tota l’illa. El joc utilitza rondes borsàries i rondes d’operacions: els jugadors compren i intercanvien accions per controlar companyies, i després les fan funcionar per operar rutes, obtenir ingressos i pagar dividends o invertir en el creixement. Dissenyat com una introducció compacta i més ràpida a la família 18xx, simplifica la gestió de les companyies i el desenvolupament de les vies, tot preservant l’intercanvi d’accions, la planificació de rutes i la competència econòmica.

Just a first impression. I messed up badly as I got stuck north-west doing nothing mid-game to game end. Entirely my fault, but it left a somewhat bad taste in my mouth. Will make sure everyone know how to avoid this to make sure everyone has a good time learning this one. I'm sure my rating will go up further, as I loved everything with it, except for the fact that I messed up. Haha

After one F2F game and one learning online, I love the partial capitalisation and the hardship on the map, but the standard vs narrow gauge choices add a little too much overhead. Maybe it will pass, but I prefer all the other rules for now [UPDATE]. Yes way better at the second or third play. The confusion of gauges went away, I'm still very bad at the operating round, but the overhead disappeared. Still a bit slowish at 3.5-4h , but fantastic game once you get the hang of it.
