6: Siege – The Board Game

Dos equips de cinc operadors especialitzats s’enfronten en escaramusses asimètriques centrades en objectius. Els jugadors trien jugar tots com a atacants o tots com a defensors i despleguen operadors amb gadgets i habilitats úniques. Els atacants obren bretxes a les parets, eliminen obstacles i avancen cap als objectius de la missió fent servir explosius i eines; els defensors reforcen les posicions, col·loquen trampes i impedeixen l’accés per protegir els seus objectius. El joc utilitza un flux de temps real simulat i planificació tàctica mentre els equips coordinen els moviments, aprofiten la línia de visió i resolen els enfrontaments per completar els objectius o eliminar l’equip contrari.

Two things can be true. Mythic Games, ran a terrible business model, they are not to be trusted if they ever return in any way after their liquidation and what not. I count myself fortunate that I received my KS pledge a while back. Their review would be a 0/10. That said...the designers did an absolute phenomenal job translating the style of tension found in the video game to the board game medium. The gameplay is snappy and full of suspense. Much like the game, you can be easily punished for poor positioning and other mistakes. Also, like the video game though, it is entirely possible to bring a round back from what appeared to be an unwinnable position completely off skill and tactical play. The designer has to be acknowledged for the incredible job they've done here.
