You can only cast spells or activate abilities when you have priority; players get and pass priority in turn order, so only instants and abilities with the correct timing can be played during an opponent’s turn (see rules on priority and timing, pages 24–26).

No — when you cast a spell it is placed on the stack and players get priority to respond; objects on the stack resolve last-in, first-out (see the stack and resolving spells, pages 53 and 79).

If a spell has no legal targets when it would resolve it is countered and does nothing; if some targets are still legal it resolves affecting those legal targets (see targeting rules and resolution, pages 22–23 and 79).

Damage is dealt and then state‑based actions are checked; a creature with lethal damage is put into its owner’s graveyard by state‑based actions rather than dying the instant damage is assigned (see damage processing and state‑based actions, pages 30 and 127).

You may play one land from your hand during your main phase when you have priority, unless a card or effect specifically allows you to play additional lands (see land‑play limits, page 45).

The rulebook’s opening‑hand and mulligan procedure explains how to take mulligans at game start and the exact steps to follow; you must follow that procedure rather than mulliganing indefinitely (see mulligan and opening‑hand rules, pages 7–8).
