1979: Revolution in Iran

Factions clash over the fate of Iran in a strategic wargame covering the events leading to the 1953 coup, the Islamic Revolution, and the turbulent years between them. One player leads the Coalition in efforts to nationalize the oil industry and oppose the Shah, while the other controls the Royalists, defending his rule and American and British oil interests. Each turn begins with a draft of event cards, followed by alternating action rounds. Players spend factional influence to trigger events, take actions, and build opposition, while hidden scoring keeps the outcome uncertain.

A somewhat messy rulebook with a lot of ambiguities, but these are easily fixed with an errata and is easy to remember. I've only played a short teaching game with myself so I wont rate this one yet until I've played a few matches. Seems to have potential.
