A Pragmatic War: The War of the Austrian Succession 1741 – 1748

This two-player historical wargame simulates the War of the Austrian Succession from 1741 to 1748, fought over the succession to the Austrian Habsburg crown lands and the imperial title of the Holy Roman Empire. One player leads Austria and the Pragmatic Alliance, while the other commands Bavaria, France, Spain, and their allies in the Bourbon coalition. Players direct the military forces of multiple European powers in a system adapted from No Peace Without Spain. Victory points represent how closely each alliance achieves its historical objectives.
