The core rules support 2–8 players and include character creation, 15 archetype specializations, adversaries, powers, spells, skills, and a setting drawn from Viking sagas and folklore. Play uses the Runic Game System, replacing dice with mystical runes to resolve actions and drive tactical combat. Teamwork and strategic decisions shape the heroes’ saga as they confront a hostile world.
