Lords of War: Elfové proti ještěrům

A strategic card game for two or more players, featuring tactical battles between Elves and Lizardmen on a gridded board. Each player commands a 36-card army deck and draws a hand of six units. On a turn, a unit is placed on the board, usually adjacent to an enemy, then attacks are resolved using the formation of arrows on each card and its defense value. Players draw or recover an unengaged unit after combat. The game ends when a player eliminates twenty units or four commanders. The Elves focus on cavalry and ranged attacks, while the flexible Lizardmen disrupt and counter opposing strategies. The two armies are playable immediately and can be combined with other armies in the series for additional matchups and mercenary decks.

Strategy card game about fantasy combat. PROS - The basic mechanics are solid, while not specially innovative. It's easy to teach and understand the game. - The art is different and, for me, very nice. - You can combine armies to create different custom decks. CONS - The gameplay doesn't feel very exciting, and has kind of a mathematical feeling. An optimal action seems to always exist, while at some point your decisions may have a bit of a risk-reward aspect. - It lacks combos or flashy moments (or I didn't get to them because of not playing it enough). - It needs some knowledge to be properly played, and competes with some other 1vs1 card games that offer a deeper experience with the same dedication.
