Set in Cunia, a troubled city of contradictions, this roleplaying game explores the noir genre through stories of dark characters, moral ambiguity, crime, and danger in the city’s shadowed streets. The detailed urban setting supports investigations and other hard-edged narratives where good and evil are only labels. The Sombra System uses three ten-sided dice to resolve an action, including its degree of success, hit location, and damage, in a single roll. This keeps play quick and straightforward while supporting the flow of the story.
