Thunderchief: The F-105D "Thud" over North Vietnam, 1965-1968

Expands dogfighting with a detailed one-on-one air-to-air combat system against Vietnamese MiG fighters. In the new Close Escort MiGCAP mission, F-105 Thunderchiefs hunt MiGs while protecting vulnerable bombers. Combat takes place in rounds, with only the advantaged fighter able to fire guns or missiles. Engagements continue from disadvantaged, advantaged, or neutral positions, with advantage required to attack. A new Pilot School and character-generation module gives each pilot individual skills and abilities, while Sidewinder and Sparrow missiles add further armament options. The expansion also introduces a U.S. Air Force campaign and allows the F-105 to serve in fighter or traditional bombing missions.
