SPQR: The Battle of Alesia 52 BC

A solitaire ancient Roman warfare game depicting the Battle of Alesia in 52 BC during Caesar’s conquest of Gaul. Players command Roman legions defending a fortified double line against attacks from Vercingetorix’s forces inside Alesia and a relief army outside. Chit pulls and card-driven events control the battle, while a simple differential D6 system resolves combat. The game sets up and plays in about 30 minutes.
