The God Kings: Warfare at the Dawn of Civilization, 1500 – 1260BC

This card-driven wargame covers the ancient wars of the Near East from 1500 to 1260 BC. Players control the armies of Egypt, the Hittites, Mitanni, or Babylonian Kassites, with resurgent Assyria also appearing in the game. Each kingdom is led by historical rulers, including Ramesses II, Hatshepsut, Thutmosis III, Suppiluliuma, and Muwatalli II. Players expand their empires by conquering provinces, collecting tribute and timber, and defeating neighboring armies and invading barbarians. Scenarios support two to four players, with playing times ranging from 15 minutes for the Battle of Kadesh to around six hours for the full campaign.
