Characters may skip or take eating/drinking at Dusk; an advanced rule lets a character eat at any time except during Combat or script resolution, but eating outside Dusk does not exempt them from the Dusk hunger check; water is effectively limited (recommended max shown) to reflect daily needs (see Dusk/Advanced Eating rules) (pages 5, 11).

If Fatigue is raised to 4 because the character was assigned to an action (including Scavenging or Guard), they finish that action/task normally and only afterwards resolve the level‑4 effects (pages 3, 10).

A character may always use their Prowess to reroll whenever they roll Combat dice (or similar rolls); only the final roll counts, so rerolls can make things worse; enemies use Prowess automatically but only re‑roll if their roll yields 0 wounds (pages 8, 12).

Noise is bounded between 1 and 8 and cannot be raised above 8 or lowered below 1; when you roll for Noise and fail (roll ≤ Noise on the d10), you must draw a Residents card and then reset Noise to 1 (page 6; see Journal Scavenging notes page 11).

Fittings may be crafted and placed on ladder spaces as well as on regular allowed spaces; if in doubt, consult the SAVE sheet (it darkens spaces where Fittings cannot be placed) — some upgrade Fittings must be placed horizontally adjacent to their required card (pages 2, 4).

When saving, put Storage tokens into the SAVE bag, record and discard Storage x5 contents as noted on the SAVE sheet, place Character cards and State tokens per the sheet (states go to the box), put Location, Shelter and crafted Fitting cards into the SAVE bag and mark board items (Board‑Up, Wait, Cold, used blanks) on the SAVE sheet; follow the restoring steps on the same page to resume (page 9).
