Arimaa
Players arrange and move animal-themed pieces on an 8x8 board with four trap squares, then take turns moving up to four steps per turn. Pieces follow a strength hierarchy (elephant down to rabbit); stronger pieces can push or pull weaker opposing pieces, and pieces in traps are vulnerable to capture. Victory occurs when a rabbit reaches the far side, when the opponent has no legal moves, or when all of an opponent’s rabbits are removed. Setup begins with each side placing their 16 pieces on their two home ranks before play starts.
