2014 · Card Game
Greed
Players build criminal enterprises by drafting and playing cards from a shared pool over ten playing rounds. Each player starts with a hand of twelve cards drawn from a larger deck, drafts cards in a rotating pass-draft sequence, and repeatedly reveals and resolves a chosen card each round. Cards are thugs, holdings, or actions; many cards require a cost or specific conditions to play and provide unique effects when resolved. Holdings with symbols accumulate tokens during play, and those tokens convert to cash at game end; players total cash from holdings and collected money to determine who earns the most.

Evan5.9 This is a quicker playing version of what's essentially 7 Wonders, but with a crime theme. There is also a little more player interaction, because many of the cards have significant attack effects that hit all other players. Since you are drafting the cards around, your strategy changes depending on which of the attack cards you pass along. It's a little confusing, because powerful cards have prerequisites, so early in the game it's hard to make the call between grabbing the power card and risk not grabbing what it needs, or grabbing what you need to get the power card out and hoping it makes it back around the table. I believe the game only has six different symbols, so it's not impossible, but it's very much about building one or two little combos and then using them as much as possible. I don't like that in a longer game like Bruges or Lewis & Clark, but this game is short enough that it's interesting. :star: Art, Iconography and components functional :nostar: Clever or interesting mechanisms :star: Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players :star: Multiple plays stay interesting :star: Low or mitigatable luck elements :star::star::star::nostar::nostar: Raw enjoyment
Mitchell C4.6 Fine little card drafter filler. The iconography and card layout can be confusing to new players. But after 1 game you'll be in the swing.
